Our Facilities
The Christ Church Parish Centre includes a large sanctuary which is flooded with natural light and flexible seating. We also have a large parish hall which is suitable for hosting events and meetings. Colourful quilted murals hang in the hall which enhance the space and improve the acoustics. Additionally, the Parish Centre has a commercial kitchen, a meeting room, and a calm chapel space.
This building was designed with accessibility in mind, including wide doorways and accessible washrooms. There is a large, lit, and paved parking lot with designated accessible parking spaces, as well as overflow gravel parking.
Our Expectations for Renters
Christ Church Cataraqui is a Christian Church in the Anglican tradition; any groups or organizations enjoying the use of our spaces must avoid displays, activities, speech or actions which could show disrespect or disregard for the sacred spaces and furnishings present.
To qualify for a rental you must submit: a completed and signed Rental Agreement, a signed copy of this Expectations document, a certificate of insurance that covers property and liability, a $500 damage/cleaning deposit, and a cheque in the amount of the fees established for your rental.
Upon our approval of your rental request, we will cash and hold the damage/cleaning deposit until your rental has been completed, at which time we will return it to you, subject to any deductions we may make for damage or clean-up costs which result from your rental.
On our website: www.christchurchkingston.ca we have posted photographs, a description and a floor plan for each of our four rentable spaces together with detailed instructions for using each space as well as for returning it to its pre-rental set up. We expect that you will pay strict attention to these instructions. Should we incur any damage or cleaning-related costs resulting from your rental, we will deduct them from your deposit and inform you accordingly.
From time to time, church-related events including funerals or weddings may arise on short notice. Whenever such an event poses a scheduling conflict with your use of the space, the church-related event will take priority and we will endeavour to provide you with at least 24 hours’ notice of the cancellation of your booking for the date in question, or alternate space if that is possible. Where appropriate, you will receive the appropriate credit resulting from any such cancellation.
In the event that we approve the use or sale of alcohol at your event, you must acquire and provide us with a Special Occasion Permit or license issued by the LCBO as part of the application process.
We do not permit gambling in any form anywhere inside our building or on our property.
Smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere inside our building or immediately adjacent to it. You may smoke in the designated area in the parking lot.
